Great Deal Samsung PN50C590 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, Black

This is a review of the 2010 50″ Samsung Plasma TV, PN50C590. I have owned this unit for a week. I am comparing this set to my 2009 46″ Panasonic Plasma TV, U series.

This Samsung 50″ is the top of the line for the Samsug 500 series.

Pros:
1) It has a swivel base which the Pansonic does not.

2) The appearance of the physical set is simple and attractive.

3) The TV picture is excellent as is the Panasonic.

4) PIP (picture-in picture), it’s kind of a phony, you can only view the default TV in the sub picture while using other inputs.

5) 4 HDMI inputs, though only one works with DVI (see cons).

6) You can update the firmware yourself.

7) The channels change quickly, something that doesn’t happen with the Panasonic.

The TV screen doesn’t reflect ambient light sources very much. Reflection is a problem with plasmas such as my Panasonic but Samsung seems to have resolved this.

9) The electronic program guide is especially good. It shows both title and available program details. The Panasonic only shows the program title. The program guide data is incorporated in the broadcast and its up to the TV manufacturer as to what is displayed in this regard.

Cons:

1) Weak tuner. It’s only just noticably weaker than my other TV tuners, not a major problem though I am disappointed that this expensive set should be like this.

2) Lack of accomodation for DVI sources. The problem here is that adapting DVI to HDMI means you have to have a separate audio input. Panasonic has an elegant solution of making it possible for you to mate any of the available audio inputs to any HDMI input. Samsung gangs only one audio input to only one of the HDMI inputs. I had to install separate speakers to accomodate one of my two DVR computers.

3) No close caption on mute. The Panasonic doesn’t have it either. Would be nice to have.

4) 3:4 format doesn’t work for HD 3:4 pictures. The problem here is that if you view many programs in the 3:4 format, the black spaces on each side of the picture can cause burn-in problems on the screen which is typical of plasmas. The fix is to have a light panel on each side of the picture when the TV set to 3:4. This TV will do this with older 3:4 broadcasts but not with HD 3:4 broadcasts, it will crush both the picture and black spaces (16:9 format) into a 3:4 space. Hopefully a firmware update will fix this. “Fit to screen” is usually an acceptable alternative to 3:4.

5) The light panels ( see 4 above) available for the 3:4 format are either blinding white or almost black. A middling gray panel would certainly be more acceptable for this format.

On the whole, this is an acceptable TV. I think you can get an excellent picture with any plasma TV. The devil is in the details.

To get an excellent picture on this (or any TV) you need to make custom adjustments. Factory default settings are never right nor are the display TV sets in stores done right. Spend a little time fooling with the adjustments and you will get big rewards in the “OMG what a great picture” department.

Great Deal Samsung HLT5076S 50-Inch UltraSlim 1080p DLP HDTV

I bought this TV from Best Buy in May 08, and after nearly 2 years of use i could not be happier with this thing. it looks virtually as good as it did the first day i brought it home.

i bought it knowing that i’d eventually have to replace the lamp, (which i’m okay with) and honestly i though i would have been forced to do that by now, but i’m glad to say that so far i have not.

i use this tv the way a lot people purchasing it will, video games and movies. i have a ps3, 360, and a wii all connected to it and they all look great. (well.. the wii looks descent, not great. but that’s not the TV’s fault) bluray movies and 1080p games all look incredible. there are multiple hdmi and component inputs, so you’ll have no problem connecting all of your HD devices.

the sound is okay on this TV, but i have a sound system connected to mine.. i prefer a thundering bass. :]

overall, i think this is a worthy purchase. you’ll spend a lot more money buying a comparable LCD or LED TV.

Great Deal Samsung PN50C450 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV (Black)

I’ve had this TV for about 3 months now, and I really don’t feel like I’m losing out on anything spectacular because this set doesn’t do 1080p. I have HD service via HD DVR on cable, and I’ve never been disappointed with the picture quality of any HD content I’ve watched.

Even watching blu-ray disks, which is currently more or less the primary source for true 1080p content and which should really show off the superiority of 1080p just looks absolutely great on the PN50C450. I just don’t feel like I’m sacrificing much at all because this is a 720p set. I’ve been impressed with the picture quality especially considering that is has only roughly half the physical pixels that 1080p sets can display. I paid 9 and I’m pretty sure shipping was free, so the price was hard to beat. BB was actually matching the price I got through Amazon, but with free shipping via Amazon I saved the tax I would have paid locally and more importantly to me at the time, BB told me it could be something like 6 to 8 weeks before they could get it to the store and even that time frame they couldn’t guarantee. Amazon had a relatively short period where they couldn’t tell you when you might be able to get one but it got resolved that evening and I was able to order. I don’t know if there really was a short lived temporary shortage on these sets caused by a lot of people snapping them up or if there was some supply chain logistics issue that caused available stores of them to temporarily drop off the radar.

In any case, I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend the PN50C450. I can’t imagine anyone finding serious fault with the picture and unless you’ve got money to burn I say why not pay 1/2 the price that you’d end up having to pay for a 1080p LCD when there’s no glaringly obvious picture quality shortcomings that would incline me to say that nothing but 1080p will do.

Comparing the PN50C450 to some other sets with similar features and even to some models in significantly more upscale price ranges at a local store display again never caused me to be anything other than favorably impressed. I was considering a Panasonic that was selling in the same price range or perhaps even marginally less expensive than the PN50C450, but the Panasonic’s picture was quite obviously horrible compared to the Samsung’s when viewed side by side. The Panasonic looked grainy/pixelated to me, making it stand out as PRETTY OBVIOUSLY 720p.

If value for the money is at all a factor in your buying decision then I believe it would be hard to go wrong with the PN50C450. Go see if you can look at one at a local store display and just take a look around to compare it to similarly priced plasmas from other manufacturers and some LCDs which at the same size would be a bit more expensive and I virtually guarantee that you’ll find the PN50C450 to be an incredible value.

No I receive no compensation for singing this sets praises, I’m just as happy as could be with my purchase and and I thought it was only fair for me to share how outstanding a value I perceive the PN50C450 to be. I simply can’t imagine anyone not seeing it as an incredible bang for the buck.

This Television is 1080p! – Sal –
After a ton of researching i finally decided to get this television. I was hesitant as pretty much everyone is to go for a 720p set. After watching digital cable on the set I noticed that many channels would come in in 1080i, so I said “I guess it outputs 1080i as well”. I finally connected both my Xbox 360 and my PS3 up to it and they both came in at 720p but when I went to the settings and set them to max resolution they both went to 1080p. I then put a blu ray in my PS3 and sure enough 1920×1080 resolution came up and man it looked beautiful. I contacted Samsung customer support today and sure enough they said that the site and box are typos and the actual specs of the tv are 1080p. I have no idea with so many reviews of this television circulating around the internet no one else has discovered this. So I guess what I am saying is if you are having trouble deciding between this and a 1080p set look no further this is a 1080p set and well worth the 0.00

Great Picture for 1/2 the price! – Tony H. –
I just received this TV on Saturday 7/24/10. I basically rolled the dice and relied solely on the reviews I read on Amazon. LCD, LED, Plasma? Which should I choose? I elected to go all price. So, I checked out the Amazon “Warehouse Deals” to see what was available. To my surprise, I was able to purchase this set (previously owned and returned) for only 9. I figured, what do I have to lose? I never once went to the big stores to even compare the picture, features etc. My feeling was this TV must have a nicer picture than my 8 year old projection TV that cost me 00.
When I opened the box, it took less than 5 minutes to connect everything which includes DirecTV HD Receiver and my surround sound.
The picture is PHENOMENAL! I don’t know why I waited so long to upgrade. 720 vs. 1080? Forget about it. You will not be able to tell the difference if you are the average person. All I know is I’ve got a quality product with an outstanding picture and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
Lastly, I was hesitant on choosing this particular model because of all the negative comments on the sound and how it was less than satisfactory. I don’t know what these folks are talking about. The sound is fine and even better when the surround sound is activated.
I couldn’t be happier. Do yourself a favor. Stop looking and buy one of these, you will thank yourself later.

Great Deal Samsung PN50A760 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV with Red Touch of Color

I was originally going to buy a Kuro 50 inch plasma after looking at all the online reviews from many different sites. The Samsung 650 was also ranked very high, but there were some small negatives about the tv (some glare issues primarily) that had me holding off for the Kuro. Amazon originally had the Kuro for about 2k, but I didn’t pull the trigger quick enough, and then it went away, and I couldn’t find it anywhere for under ,500.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to go ahead and buy the 650 when I looked on Amazon one day and saw the new 50 inch 760 on sale for ,599.00. After reading some professional reviews on this product (there wasn’t a whole lot due to how new it was), I decided that this was an upgrade from the slightly older model, and decided to pull the trigger. Best decision I could have made! Not sure if experts still rank the Kuro higher than this television, but if they do, the Kuro must be out of this world, because this Samsung is UNBELIEVABLE. This is my first plasma tv purchase, and I was used to watching television on a 36″ Panasonic traditional tv, but after seeing the picture on the Samung, I was blown away. Watching sports on tv makes you feel as if you are at the event. The color is amazing, the tv looks nice, and the swivel on the stand allows me to turn the tv to face me when my wife isn’t around. It even makes bad movies good (think Spiderman 3), awful movie, but awesome special effects in high def! I think the sound was decent as well, but it didn’t have enough booming bass for me, so with the money I saved over the Kuro, I purchased a Denon soundbar to go along with the plasma to add better surround sound and booming bass. Now wherever I am seated in the room, I can turn my components to face me and enjoy a pretty good surround sound system. If you don’t want to add a surround sound system, this tv handled sound well, but as I say I was really looking for more booming bass when I watched movies. It would have been great if there was a way to add a subwoofer directly to this television, something the Kuro has, but not the Samsung.

There is a teeny glare on the OUTSIDE edge of the television on the part that is not actually the screen(not sure why Samsung made it almost a mirror like edge), but nothing that is too distracting, and I got used to it pretty quickly. I have this in my living room which gets very little light when the shades are closed, but even with lights on, or during the day, the glare issue on this tv is not noticeable. I was a little leary given past Samsung reviews, but I can tell you that if possible glare is holding you back from buying this tv, don’t think twice about it…not an issue. Also, you can watch this tv from anywhere in the room and see it clearly. The controls on the remote are extremely functionable, and everything is VERY easy to setup and tweak.

The other part of this purchase that is EXTREMELY important, and should be emphasized, is the process of buying DIRECTLY through Amazon.com. As long it is directly through Amazon.com (and not through an affiliate), shipping is included in the price, and the company handling the deliveries is TOP NOTCH. When I initially looked around for purchase possibilities, the thing that bothered me was that most companies had a policy where they would deliver the plasma to your front door only. You had to open the box, make sure that it worked, and then sign for it. If there was any type of problem, some would tell you to refuse delivery, and others would tell you that you had to get it fixed through the warranty process! The last thing I wanted to do was to get a defective set, and then have to get someone here to fix it! When I went with Amazon.com, the company delivering for them brought the plasma into my house, took it out of the box, put it on the open table, hooked it up, put batteries in the remote, setup the initial configuration, and made sure that it was working fine BEFORE I signed for it. This piece of mind often called “white glove service” elsewhere costing anywhere from 0 – 0 additional dollars was ABSOLUTELY free with Amazon.com. I can’t stress enough how important this was. I had read about this service beforehand, and it was a primary reason (along with cost) as to why I was pretty much holding off until I found the right television on Amazon. This service alone made my purchase through Amazon.com worth the price over other services, but the price was also also at the lower range of ANYWHERE else. A friend of mine owns an electronics store, and told me point blank that he doesn’t understand how Amazon.com can price merchandise the way they do it, but he had heard good things about them, and although it would hurt him by recommending Amazon.com, he told me to buy from them if the price was right.

I highly recommend this television as well as purchasing from Amazon.com. The final way you know how happy I am with this purchase is to keep the following in mind….I RARELY spend the time to enter reviews after purchases, but I was so happy with this purchase, that I couldn’t wait to share my experience with everyone on Amazon.com

The perfect TV – W. Mate – Beverly Hills, CA USA
My whole family is in love with this TV. After looking at any number of TVs, on display and those owned by neighbors and friends, we chose the Samsung and haven’t looked back. There are all kinds of input options, including quite a few HDMI inputs, which means that video components and game consoles can all stay plugged in without any juggling around, and the cord keeper on the back of the set keeps the cables all but entirely out of sight.

The picture quality is terrific, especially for sports events, and the sound quality, while not able to match surround sound, is perfectly acceptable.

The one caveat is the Touch of Color. It happens to works very well in our room, but might not be for everyone. The red color borders the black in the clear edges around the base and picture frame, and is very contemporary and cool looking, but is actually not that noticeable. Samsung told me that some people rig a can light behind the set to make the red effect more noticeable. The one aspect of the Touch of Color with which I was unaware is the red cast to the screen. When you are used to big black screens, it’s a bit of a surprise. Although it is not terribly noticeable when the TV is on, it is quite evident when the TV is off and might not work with every style of decor. Whether or not it was designed to do so, the red cast is actually very helpful in reducing screen glare if your TV happens to catch any glare from daylight coming into the room.

All in all, this is a beautiful set with great quality and options for picture fit that increase with the type of cable used (HDMI having the most options and the best picture quality). The TV and remote are very easy to figure out, so much so that you hardly need the manual. In addition, Samsung customer service was helpful, very knowledgeable and seemed happy to walk me through whatever questions I had about the set.

We could not be any happier with this purchase.

Great Deal Samsung HLT5087SAX 50-Inch Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV

There’s no contest, and it’s a crying shame that these sets are a fast dying breed. 1080p, 120hz, HDMI 1.3 support, and an inherently faster refresh rate than ANY LCD panel produced and you’ve got by far and beyond the absolute best HDTV to reproduce any blu-ray that exists.

Having seen blu-ray on 120hz LCDs, I quickly developed a distaste for the image which due to the problems inherent in digital displays, the look and feel of film had completely disappeared. Pirates of The Carribean: At World’s End, looked like it was shot with a nice HD Camera and forgot to undergo the post production processing that makes it film.

However, when it comes to watching HD Video (like HD off-air broadcasts or HD Satellite TV) this set is no slouch. Watching college football on ESPN or CBS will make you cry and almost forget about buying season tickets. The color palette is incredible and the blacks are BLACK, not dark gray or charcoal.

For reference sake, I’m using a Dishnetwork ViP 211 HD Satellite receiver, a Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-Ray player (best you can by for under 00, I promise you) and both are jacked in with Accell Ultra Pro AV 2m HDMI 1.3 cables, capable of slinging 10.2 Gbits per second, just like the Monster Cable 1000 HDMI cables for 3 times the price.

I have no regrets. You can take your LCDs and shove ‘em!!

Always considered Samsung as junk, but when I first read the reviews for their DLP I went for the 50″ DLP TV. Biggest mistake I have ever made. First it was a switch that I was able to fix myself instead of dishing out 0. Now the piece of crap wont work at all. DONT BUY SAMSUNG. The BAD reviews are true. SAMSUNG SUCKS!!!! After two years, this LED DLP 50″ display still has a better image than any LCD I’ve seen. I only wish I had purchased the 67″ model when they were still available. Samsung should not have discontinued their DLP line of HDTVs. I guess most consumers want a display they can hang on their wall. I use this as a monitor for Blu-ray, HD DVD and a computer, all connected to HDMI ports on my Yamaha receiver. I’ve never used the audio built into the television and never watch television. It’s ideal for my uses and I’ve never seen a display that gives such a film-like reproduction of HD movies. I hope it lasts another 2 years since nothing out there matches it yet.

Great Deal Samsung PN50B650 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

I did extensive on-line research for over a month before deciding which flat screen to buy. My first dilema was LCD vs. Plasma. This was the easy part of my decision. I like movies and sports, and plasma handles fast motion much better. A few things that made me consider LCD were: burn in, glare, and screen brightness. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on burn in (I am still following the break in procedures), but even with all the calibration settings low, brightness & glare are a non issue. I have watched it with all the lights in my family room on with the brightness at 40, & still didn’t have a problem seeing it.
The next (and hardest by far) decision was Panasonic vs. Samsung vs. LG. All these brands received good reviews from multiple sources including this site. I finally settled on the Samsung mainly becuase I already own two smaller Samsungs, and have been extremely happy with them. I know Pioneer is supposed to be a step ahead of everyone else, but they also cost twice as much. Any knock you read on this TV is from an extremely picky viewer. Even the sound, which received the most complaints, isn’t that bad for TV speakers. I can’t imagine not having it hooked up a sourround system anyway. The picture will absolutely knock you socks off. I popped in Avatar on Blu Ray, and it was amazing (even with the break in settings). I can’t wait to turn this thing loose and see what it can do. A word on break in. I know Samsung and other brands officially state that you do not need to break in Plasma TV’s any more. I read a post by a Samsung tech on their website that stated although it is not absolutely necessary, he would not skip this step on his own personal set. That’s good enough for me, I’m doing it. To be honest, I probably would have been happy with the LG, or the Panasonic too. I compared the three side by side in Fry’s, and they seemed pretty much equal. They all got great pictures. I will admit that the color was better on the Samsung, but not enough that I would not consider the other brands if they were a couple hundred dollars cheaper. I guess my point is, if you are a normal TV/Movie viewer, and not a hard core videofile, you will be happy with any of these brands. Buy the one you can get at the best price. I’m not saying don’t do any research. There are still particular models, even from top manufacturers, that you will want to avoid. What I am saying is that I probably did way too much research to the point that I was almost confused and worried that I may have picked the wrong one. My fears disappeared once I got it sep up and turned on.
A side note on this TV. As I understand it, most TV’s come in “demo mode”. When I first got it, my set kept setting itself back to the “Dymanic” setting. I knew it was demo mode, but couldn’t find how to change it. Here’s how: Press the volume button on the fron panel of the TV(up or down, it doesn’t matter) and when the volume bar appears on the screen, push and hold the menu button for 7 seconds. A box will appear on the screen telling you it is now in normal mode.

The picture is great, specially for the price but this TV has broken twice now. All it does it click when it breaks. Do a search, this appears to be a common problem. Each time it beaks, it takes about two weeks to get it fixed. Something about not having the part in stock. I will never buy a Samsung TV again.

Samsung 50in Plasma TV – shirley brown –
I found this TV thru Consumer Reports. It was one of the best TV’s in my budget and it was highly recommended by this magazine. I couldn’t find the TV in stores though. The Samsung website had the TV listed for a much highter price than the magazine listed. Amazon was the only place to find this TV at the price that I was looking for. I’ve never ordered something this big or expensive thru Amazon so I was pretty scared to order it but I took a chance. I was relieved that when the TV was delivered, there wasn’t a scratch on any surface of this beautiful TV. The delivery man set it up for me. The TV has performed as well as the magazine stated. I’m very happy with my Amazon purchase.

Great Deal Samsung PN50B430 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV

I bought this TV as an early Christmas present via amazon after the black Friday Walmart ad for a 9 50″ Samsung plasma came out (pn50b400). After doing some research, I ended up finding the pn50b430 on amazon for the same price (and it has an extra hdmi input compared to the 400). When browsing through the stores and reading reviews online, I was really leaning towards Samsung models due to their superior color and great image processing. I was also considering the Panasonic x1, but got to look at them side by side and mess around with some of the controls and… the Samsung has better color and much more vivid/bright display. Even when pumping up the brightness levels on the X1, it didn’t come close to the Samsung. I am a very value-conscious shopper, and am not going to lay down over a grand for a TV (just can’t bring myself to justify it)… and this TV made me very happy with my choice. I’ve been using it for a month now and… IT IS AWESOME! the standard definition satellite broadcasts look amazingly good on this TV! The video processing for standard def on this TV blows away the competition (especially when compared to lcd’s, which look blocky to me when playing standard def). The high definition satellite content looks great too… but not really any better than other flat panels. Regular DVD’s on an upscaling player are AMAZING. I’m not missing the 1080p at all… for me the 720p looks stellar. OK… now for the things I DON’T like. Because this is the cheap scaled-down model, there are no side facing input/outputs (arrghh) but I guess it’s a small compromise for 1/2 the price. The TV is very heavy and not very slim/sexy from the side view. Also, the reflections can become annoying depending on how you have it situated (and what is in the background). The bezel is glossy black and the screen is recessed about 1/2″, so when you have scrolling images, or bright items close to the edge of the screen, the bezel reflects these items, creating a weird effect. Also, the display size/aspect options change oddly, depending on the style of input (composite, component, hdmi, etc.), necessitating playing around with the options until you find one you like. One other thing… I am using 5.1 surround speakers intended for computer use (logitech x-530’s… which sound incredible by the way) until I can afford a nice home theater setup to compliment this tv, and the audio out stereo connector is not volume controlled; It lets you select “use external speakers” on the tv’s sound setup, but you have to use the speakers own volume adjusters, the tv wont change it’s output volume. All these annoyances aside, I am VERY pleased with my purchase. This TV is an INCREDIBLE value, and I would have no problems suggesting it to any other value-minded shopper who doesn’t mind the trade-offs to save hundreds to thousands of hard-earned dollars.

This plasma is a 720P resolution TV. The sharpness provided rivals other 1080P TVs that I have seen. The colors are deep, vivid and the blacks are awesome. As manufacturers phase out production of the 720P plasmas for the 1080P models, incredibly good buys on the remaining 720Ps can be found. They are worth considering.

But, this is our first flatscreen….and for 9 and no shipping or tax, who cares? The colors on this tv are unbelievable. We bought a Sony Soundbar to go with it and the combination is awesome! If this one comes down in price again, jump on it….you won’t be disappointed. Great Deal Samsung FPT5084 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

Bought this TV in October 2007 (from Amazon)after spending that summer doing all kinds of research (especially Plasma vs LCD comparisons) I choose to with this Samsung/Plasma due mostly to its competitive pricing, picture quality and standard features. I LCD’s at the time were still behind the Plasmas with picture quality. I originally wanted a 42″ but went bigger and I am so glad I did.

Now lets get down to what you are reading this review for. Once purchased it took about a week for delivery (which for me was way too long but I did have time to find a TV stand). If you are going from a SD TV to a HD TV (as I did) then you will be amazed at the picture quality especially if you are a sports fan. Now SD channels are not that good but are better that a regular TV with 4:3 pull down. Also I switched from Comcast to DirectTV due to the picture quality. Comcast has to use a video compression technique to get HD over the coaixal cable which henders quality.

Out of the box I had a low sounding buzzing noise that was intermittent and if I turned the volume up I wouldn’t hear it. It kinda bothered me at first but I go over it. After reading some forums alot of people experince this with Plasma it’s just to what volume level can you tolerate it. Samsung is aware and have some remedies. Also be aware this TV gets hot and expands the plastic molding which will make a crakling sound from time to time (you will also hear this when you turn the TV off). This issue/concern is addressed in the owners manual. This is just a by product of having a Plasma TV.

After adjusting all the available picture settings I was completely satisfied with picture quality. I have a PS3 (HDMI) and XBOX 360 (Component) and both are beautiful to look at. Please be advised that additional adjustments may be neccessary to get the picture the way you want it. I could write more on this but its my vision vs yours. So remember its what you prefer not me. I am just very pleased with the HD and SD picture quality. I highly recommend this TV.

I do have to say I do get compliments from others (mostly friends and family) on the picture quality they see on this TV.

Now I did have a bit problem that drove me crazy for awhile. Late January 09 I started noticing this rapid pixel flicker of red and green color in dark areas of video content. It only seemed to happen after the TV had been on for awhile (sometimes 30min to 2hrs). I think is was tempeature related. Oh by the way the backt top of the TV gets really hot. So if you have children please be aware of this. Now back to this flickering of pixels you had to be about 3-5 feet away to really see it but after about a month of this I could see it from my standard sitting distance (which is exactly 10ft).
I called Samsung support and even after a year still issued a warranty work order. The tech that came out could see it (that was good to know because my girlfriend said I was obessed with this. Unfortunately the tech just oredered a power supply board and that realy didn’t fix it. So I called Samsung back and they issued another warranty claim and the TV repair shop said we will get you an interior display replacement (which replaces the display and all boards except power supply and input/output board.). So needless to say Samsung support has been GREAT to me.

Overall— Do your own research. Pick the TV that fits your budget and wants. You already know you need a TV. Don’t be afraid to go big. Go online to the actual brand manfacturer to determine what the models are (entry level vs premium) and features they come with. Then go to the big retailers to actually see the TV. Do be skeptical of picture quality in the store. They use different settings than what you may use in your home. Remeber where you are putting this TV (pay attention to you surrounding light). Then shop Amazon becuase no sales tax. I would’ve paid over 1,000 more if I bought at the BB store. Also not every TV is perfect these are highly technical pieces of equipment and all brands have issues (as you will discover when you do your research). Its how they deal with those issues that sets them apart. As I have stated before Samsung has been great to me.

Good Product – Horrible Customer Service – J. Wilson –
I’ve had this TV for over a year. The TV is easy to use with lots of nice features and it gets a nice picture. After several months of use the power supply went out while the TV was still under warranty.

The customer service and warranty repair service is horrible. It took almost 3 weeks to get someone to the house to repair the TV. Hour’s on the phone with Samsung and all they do is blame the 3rd party service provider that they contract the work out to. This is the last Samsung product I will ever buy. I have purchase 2 additional flat panel TV’s since this TV from other manufactures.
