Great Deal Samsung LN26C450 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

This review covers the 26inch HDTV and also a recently purchased 22 inch Samsung. Both are excellent sets with easy installation & exceptional picture quality. These sets are a part of our multimedia system where the main set is a 1.5 yr old 52 inch HDTV Samsung (also an Amazon purchase). Good but poor auto timer ability – Michael R. T. Low – wellington, fl
The only issue is that the auto timer cannot be set to start up on the HDMI input and is is of little use if that is your input channel. Apart from that it is easy to set up and has an excellent picture.

Great Deal Samsung LNS2641D 26-Inch LCD HDTV

I’m not a TV or game nut. I use Phillips rabbit ears and watch what I need from local stations. I had to buy a new tv cause the old CRT one quit. I got the 2641d partly based on an Amazon reviewer’s good luck on an air antenna.
I wanted a light tv cause I live on the gulf coast(evacuating). That said, I started looking for an LCD, built in dual NTSC/ATSC tuners, PC monitor capable. The 2641d has them all and is light weight.

When I set it up, I just plugged it in and clicked on all the local channels I knew of. Some were OK and some snowy/bad. This made me buy another bigger(more expensive) antenna–It worked no better than Walmart’s Phillips so I returned it.

I figured I’d have to live with what I had, but one night I was playing with the auto set up and let it go through the channels and wow!
Don’t know what I did?, but now I get two or three signals from each channel, analog, HD, 480, weather and such. ex: ch 5 is CBS analog; move up to 5-1 and same program but HD, 5-2 is weather, and 5-3 is 480/720.
On my PBS channel I get 4 different programs. 42,42-1,42-2,42-3. One is HD others are clear as can be too. Forgive me if most of you already know about this, but I told you I’m not a TV watcher and this feature blew me out. The 3000:1 contrast ratio is one of highest too.

Lesson is: read the manual and let the tv select the programs through the auto mode. Best thing is that either the digital station is great or it won’t pick it up. I live nearly 40 miles from the broadcast antennas.

This TV works great on air antenna signals. Price was reasonable and picture is amazing. Can’t imagine seeing it on satellite or cable. Now I’m playing with the favorites, PIP(PC+tv–not multi tv channels), and other stuff. Highly reccomend it.

Power Board Burned Out in 3 years – D. Sherman – Westchester NY
In fall of 2006 I paid 50 at Best Buy very excited about the new technology. I also thought at the time like televisions of the past, it may last more then 3 years. Or that it could be fixed if it broke. After the second year the power board acted up. The tv blinked on and off instructions said it over heated. It resolved itself a few months later, but the warranty ended 6 months prior. Keep in mind I have the best Monster Surge protector. It had the features and benefits before broadcast went digital. I was waiting for broadcast tech to catch up to my LCD TV. 2008 TV goes digital, I got 18 months of HDMI television and the power board burned out. Dead. I took it to Stanton Repairs, self proclaimed the honest guys who fix TVs. 2 weeks later these guys are stumped. It can not be fixed. I am shocked. A TV has such a short life span? I am a fan of Samsung but they don’t stand behind their product. The disclaimer I got from customer service said in 2006, the technology was so new we gave you 90 days plus one year parts and labor. After 3 years of normal home use, Samsung had no idea what would fail. Stanton had my TV for 2 weeks with no phone calls or no news. I was told maybe 1 day, 2 days, 5 days. 2 weeks later I got the phone call. Buy a new TV. I will never ever buy a Samsung LCD TV.

I think we got a lemon. We really enjoyed this TV, but after less than 2 years of use the LCD screen died. The repair price is 0-600.

My last television was a huge monstrosity that weighed so much that I’d have to find a muscle man to move it around. When it finally died on me, I was a little excited. The thought of a new television is quite thrilling! After doing a bunch of internet research and going to the local retailers to check out the new world of televisions, I decided that in my price range, this Samsung 26 inch TV was the best quality I could find. When the set arrived at my house, I was surprised that I could lift the box. Once it was out of the box, the sight of how sleek and slim it is nearly left me breathless. But what is most exciting about my new TV is the amazing picture quality. The colors are so vivid and vibrant. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. Does not do what it says it will do!!! – DH –
One of the features that Samsung says that their televisions have is an Alarm System that turns the TV on in the morning. That was the main reason I purchased Samsung TV. Most other TV’s only have a sleep time off feature.

After receiving the TV and hooking it up, I could not get the alarm feature to work. I spent hours on the phone with a Samsung Customer Service Rep who finally insisted that is was FIOS cable’s problem. I then called FIOS and spent an hour with them arguing. They insisted it had nothing to do with them and that it was the TV’s problem. I called Samsung back and the first level CS advisor tried very hard for quite a while and finally transferred me to the 2nd level Technical support. After trying for quite a while and he put me on hold and came back saying:

“THE ALARM FEATURE ONLY WORKS IF YOU DO NOT RUN TV THROUGH A CABLE BOX”. (only directly to the wall) Words escape me!!! What a joke, in this day and age of cable, I would call that fraudulent advertising. Since Samsung features are not the simplist to use and the colors on the TV take much adjusting, I would never recommend or buy another Samsung TV again.

I was a little worried about ordering this TV because it was a brand new model (March 2010) and the only review that I could find was a negative one. The tv just arrived today. I was quite pleased with the tv. The picture is vivid and the sound is excellent for such a thin tv. I purchased the tv for my home office and upgraded from an older 23″ Samsung tv which actually took up more space due to its side mounted speakers. If you are looking for a 26″ tv, I feel that it was worth the extra $$$ to get this LED model. This was my first LED tv. The picture is great and it only uses 40 watts of electricity. My old 23″ Samsung used 100 watts. I hooked up the coaxial cable wire to the tv directly and it found all of the analog and digital channels within a few minutes on auto mode. I also hooked up my PS3 via HDMI and it worked right away (The other reviewer wrote about his HDMI cable not producing sound.- Possibly he was using a defective HDMI cable or he had an audio output setting set incorrectly on the device that was connected to the tv…… because the HDMI output works fine on this tv). The only negative is that the tv display is 720p/1080i. The tv does not have 1080p but in all honesty on a tv less than 40″ you really don’t need 1080p. Final verdict- Pricey but worth it…. if this is the size you’re looking for. I only wish that I had room for the 32″ model. Don’t just take my word for it….the tv keeps selling out on Amazon as soon as it comes back in stock.

Let me just say that I was really excited to get this TV. So excited that I simply forgot to check the pixel response time before I went to purchase it. When I hooked my PS3 up to this TV via HDMI, I noticed horrible ghosting. This is not a fast display. If you’re going to be doing any type of gaming on this display, I would go with something else. Then, after I saw how bad the ghosting and overdrive was, I immediately went online to try to find out what the response time was and what do you know… there’s no response time listed for this model on ANY website. Even the websites that list response time put “N/A” in that section. Do yourself a favor and make sure you know the response time of your TV before you buy it. If it doesn’t list a response time, you’re probably in for trouble.

I also purchased the new 32″ LN32C530 and that screen also had the same horrible ghosting… again, no response time listed anywhere that I could find.

In conclusion, I was not happy with the performance of this monitor. If you want to go ahead and order it anyway, that’s your call, but I’m just putting the warning out that if you don’t like ghosting or overdrive, do not buy this. You’ll be disappointed. Note: I also saw a lot of ghosting in movies too.

Great Deal Samsung LN26C350 26-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

I bought the Samsung UN26C4000, the first 26″ LED on the market, at a local electronics store, and exchanged it for this TV. I couldn’t be happier. That LED had bad ghosting/banding. This LN26c350 not only has great picture quality, but it also has speakers in the front! I never expect phenomenal sound from a smaller LCD TV, but this is far better than most. A lot of the smaller LCD TVs have speakers that point away from the BACK of the TV, which is just plain dumb. Also, this Samsung has really good black levels for an LCD in its class. Overall, great HD picture, 2 HDMI inputs, easy menu settings, and front facing speakers makes this the best 26″ LCD TV I could find. I use it with HD U-verse service in the bedroom. I would say this is the best value and quality out there for this size. It’s too bad all of the high end features go into 32″ TVs and larger.

I bought this and as soon as I turned it on I noticed green streaks & blotches bleeding along the screen. The next morning there were a few more. I returned it the very next day. I’m waiting for a replacement. I hope it was just a defective one and the next is normal. If not, I’m going back to SONY. What a disappointment & hassle.

Great Deal Samsung LN26A330 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

I bought this TV to replace my old Sony tube TV which was defective and had a greenish screen. That TV was only a few years old, too, which doesn’t say too much for Sony products. This TV, however, is so beautiful; it is FAR superior to the old tube TV I had. There is just no comparison. The colors are vibrant and the contrast is amazing, especially in HD. It is my first HD TV and I can definitely see why people love these TVs so much.

The sound is just okay. I do not have the sound distortion problem resulting from using the QAM tuner and not a cable box with Comcast with this TV. Hopefully, I will never get this problem since it is a major issue with the 32″ Samsung TV we bought shortly after this one. You can see what I mean by reading my review on the LN32A330 model. Apparently, most of Samsung’s tuners are defective in these TVs and do not work well with cable signals (mainly Comcast) unless there is a cable box. This results in distorted or “robotic” sound on HD channels at regular intervals.

I highly recommend this TV ONLY if you use a cable box. I personally wouldn’t take a chance with it if you have Comcast or any other cable without a cable box. My 26″ doesn’t have the sound problem, but it could only be a matter of time before it pops up, which I have heard does happen.

I purchased this television to replace an old, old bedroom tv. I cannot say enough good things about the Samsung line of televisions. At the same time I purchased this one, I also purchased a 40 inch.

This television (the 26 inch) has a high quality picture vs. our 26 inch Sony. This television “hands down” outdoes my Sony in sound, picture quality and adjustment features. In fact, if you stand to the side of our Sony, the picture becomes very blurry–not so with the Samsung.

The menu is very user friendly and I really like the fact that you can set the volume to adjust with channel changes. Our cable system is such that some stations are much louder than others. With a quick adjustment on the Samsung, that no longer is a problem.

Amazon’s shipping is so fast and free shipping is sure a plus. We actually paid less for this television than we did for our Sony and this is a better television.

I would absolutely recommend this television to any looking for a high quality flat screen. I just recommended a Samsung to a friend, who went to an “unnamed” store to see it in person and was very impressed.
